Dave Morris
(Concert Sound)

Dave turned professional musician in 1972 and various recording and publishing contracts followed throughout the 1970’s and early ‘80’s. One such example was his writing credit on the song ‘Strangers’ for Frida’s (Abba) debut solo album which was Produced by the great Phil Collins. During his time in the recording studio he realized that he preferred producing to performing, and this eventually led to him opening his own recording studio in Redditch. His reputation quickly spread throughout the music industry and he was soon to find himself Engineering and Producing for such giants as Brian May (Queen), Steve Howe and Rick Wakeman (Yes), Stefan Grappelli’s world jazz guitarist Martin Taylor, Gordon Giltrap and The Manic Street Preachers to name but a few. In the spring of 1994 he would Produce ‘The Acoustic Collection’ album for an up and coming duo called Lloyd & Anderson. From there came the natural progression to Talon’s live engineer in July 1999. He continues to be one of the major factors in the incredible and continuing success of Talon. Between tours, Dave’s other passion is his beloved narrowboat and the inland waterways of England.

Adam Vickery (Stage Manager)

Paul Gilbert (Lighting Design)

Adam takes great pride in his key role as Stage Manager. It is his ultimate responsibility for the truck and its contents to arrive safely at the theatre and then throughout the evening to ensure the smooth running of the show. Although this is his first job within the music industry, this qualified motor mechanic and professional driver has taken to this massive task like a duck to water. Adam’s passion for driving and fast cars is illustrated by his Morgan 4x4 sports car.

Paul first came to Talon’s attention in the autumn of 2000 as part of the mobile sound unit during the live recordings at the Playhouse Theatre in Harlow. He so impressed that when the lighting job became available in 2003 he was the natural choice. This ex-trainee accountant has a degree in sound engineering. Ironic then that he should end up as one of the most sought after Lighting Designers in the UK. Paul is also a massive Birmingham City fan, but we love him anyway.

Dan Mepham (Monitor Engineer)

Annica Lloyd (Merchandise & PR)

Dan is the latest acquisition to the Talon crew joining in November 2007. Hidden in the wings, he mixes the bands on-stage sound. This is no easy task as he has to please each individual musician whilst not conflicting with what the audience hears. His interest in theatre began at school and continued throughout college playing several leading roles. In 2001 whilst studying the art of sound-engineering in Birmingham, Dan would meet Dave Morris which eventually led him to Talon.

Anni was born in Stockholm, Sweden and moved to Scotland in 1997 to obtain a Masters Degree in Land Economy at Aberdeen University. It was here, during a night out in the spring of 2001, that her life would change forever. Three months later she was married to Chris and in March 2003 joined the Talon team taking over the Merchandise department. Anni is also the first point of contact when e-mailing Talon as well as using her artistic eye to design the web-site and brochures.
